A whale breaching in the Gulf of Alaska in Kenai Fjords National Park. 

During my day excursion into Kenai Fjords National Park we found a couple of playful whales jumping and frolicking in the Gulf of Alaska.  For the better part of an hour the whales intermittently jumped out of the water, a behavior known as breaching.   I made this image of a seemingly smiling, almost 2,000 ton, whale about to gracefully leap out of the water.
